Delta Police Recognize Police Officers, Support Staff, Volunteers and Citizens at their Annual Awards Ceremony

This year’s Delta Police Department Annual Awards Ceremony was held on January 27, 2011.

This is an occasion and opportunity to acknowledge exemplary service, sacrifices and contributions of police officers, support staff, volunteers and citizens who have exemplified the Delta Police Department’s values of Honor, Integrity, Courage and Trust.

Sabine Homicide Investigation: (Team Commendation) An investigative team of 18 officers from the Delta Police and outside agencies along with two Crown prosecutors were recognized for their efforts into the 2006 homicide of Jeffrey Sabine. The investigation resulted in the arrest and charge of four persons responsible for Mr. Sabine’s death. Those arrested were all convicted of offences ranging from first degree
murder, conspiracy to commit murder and interfering with human remains.

On behalf of my brother, Jeffery Sabine, and his family we express our sincere thanks to the investigative team and Crown prosecutors. Your efforts helped to give us some closure and peace of mind.
